SHAW HOUSE

Thomas Dolman built Shaw House in 1581, it's a big Elizabethan manor. Place has a long history.

Some of the activity that has been documented, mysterious moving balls of blue light in the upper rooms, sounds of battle, shadow figures and even a ‘Grey Lady’.

There is also the screams of a former house maid that come from a tunnel connecting Shaw house with Donnington Castle, which collapsed, killing her.

OUR EXPERIENCE

We were given an excellent tour of the building upon our arrival, with lots of interesting stories about the place which aren’t found online. After which, we did a tour of the place ourselves, during of which nothing of note happened. 

Upon later exploration of what we were told was the most haunted area of the building (a corridor where previous ghost groups have heard running footsteps dashing towards them) we heard some footsteps down the hall. What is to be noted however is that this is a very old building and there is the potential for the footsteps we heard to be the wood relief from where we trod only moments earlier. Still - enough to unsettle us.

By far one of the scarier places in the building was the basement tunnel. It also happened to be where we got the most activity. 

Baxter and Jake threw marbles down the tunnel in the dark, asking for spirits to throw them back. What they got was one of the marbles apearing to bounce, come to a stop, the start bouncing again as if it was re-thrown. Upon turning on the lights, the marble was dead in the centre of the room, much further towards the end of the tunnel than any of the other marbles. - Strange!

Whilest on solo investigations, Penn explored down in the basement and heard many different noises. A loud snapping, footsteps above and even a shiftinf at the end of the corridor.

It is noted the footsteps could have come from the security guard as we do not know his location at this point in the investigation.
