KNOWLTON CHURCH AND EARTHWORKS

Knowlton Church and Earthworks has been a hotspot for local folklore and legends since the decimation of Knowltons population during the black plague.

There appear to be two main spirits that have been logged recently.

One is that of a tall menacing figure in black. The other is that of  a lady in a white dress. Both have been captured on film many times by various different paranormal groups.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Getting closer to Summer, we actually managed to arrive at this location during the early evening, whilest the sun set around us.



While waiting for the sun, we talked with some friendly locals who talked to us about quite how haunted this location was. They gave us advice for seeing the ghosts that haunt Knowlton Church.

According to the locals, the spirits come from the Clootie Tree that is a portal for spirits, where people hang up ribbons to repel the bad spirits.

The locals also mentioned that if you sit down with the lights out on the Earthworks and remain very still and silent, you can hear a ghostly horseman.

We explored the grounds, trying to recreate the ghost photos taken by other paranormal groups and had a decent spirit box session where a spirit seemed to get angry at Penn.



After this, we tried sitting in the dark on the Earthworks like the locals recommended, and to our suprise, both Penn and Baxter heard a galloping horse. This unfortunately wasn’t picked up by any of our audio recorders, so has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
