FARINGDON FOLLY EXPERIENCE

FARINGDON FOLLY

Faringdon Folly in Oxfordshire is haunted by dancing ghosts that appear on moonlit nights. It has seen battle over the years, being the site of multiple hill forts and the standing ground of Oliver Cromwells men to bombard the town. When the tower was built years later, multiple bodies where unearthed; and it is thought many still remain beneath the hill.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Trying to film the intro to Faringdon Folly at the bottom of the hill we heard a few strange noises that sounded a lot like gunshots. (If it was a car - Jake would be able to identify the make, model, manufactory date, air pressure of when it was built, what flavour paint it has, etc, etc).

Although in the countryside here in the UK farmers sometimes own guns for sport - it was quite late at night and seemed unlikely. - so possibly we had captured some ghostly sounds of battle? - It would definitely make sense with its history.

After the treck up the tower; we set up a small little area where we would try and make contact with the spirits of this hill.

The REM-Pod and EMF was set up in preperation.

Penn lit a candle and offered a Haribo Maoam as a gift to the spirits, verbally encouraging them to come forth.

All at once, the trees started shifting, the REM-Pod maxed out and the candle blew out. It genuinely felt like we were interacting with some kind of spirit in the most traditional sense. The REM-Pod this entire night responded perfectly to our questioning and we even got a comedically on-the-nose ghost breath noise from behind us.

Later this evening we put Jake in the Spirit Box and although its answers were a bit hit-or-miss; it genuinely felt like there was the prescence of a spirit with the responses from the REM-Pod. It also mentioned being behind Baxter and Penn, and upon further inspection of the footage, there is what appears to be some glowing eyes that only appear in this period of time.

One of the biggest things here is after this Spirit Box session, Jake is completely drained of energy, nearly in some kind of depressive state from being in the Spirit Box for so long. We have only ever seen this once before at Haunted Antiques Museum, when he sat in the wheelchair. As anecdotal as this evidence is, it feels very real to all of us in the moment and is definitely more than real to Jake.
