BLACK SHUCK
A staple of classic English folklore.A large spectral black dog, sometimes described as having flaming eyes / glowing red eyes.
In most stories surrounding them, they tend to roam ancient monuments and churches.
It’s hard to tell where stories / folklore ends and truth begins. We haven’t found anything conclusive on Black Shucks.
OUR EXPERIENCE
A black shuck apparently frequents The Devils Den, though upon our visit, we found nothing.
Betchworth Castle is known to be haunted by a Black Shuck. Whilst we were there, Penn and Baxter heard some strange noises coing from the bushes. On our way back to the car, we experienced many different noises. Loud crashing through the undergrowth. Talking voices. Maybe even... a growl?
